▣ Abstract
Human vessel geometries and blood flow have been studied with advances of medical imaging and computational modeling techniques. Since cardiovascular diseases are leading causes of death globally, studying mechanics of vessels and blood flow help better understand progression of cardiovascular diseases. In this lecture, I summarized the past research ideas and findings focused on aortic aneurysm hemodynamics and vessel dynamics. Hemodynamics were analyzed using MRI-based modeling and CFD with patient-specific boundary conditions. Vessel dynamics were analyzed using CT-based modeling and parametric study at diverse states, pre- and post-surgery, cardiac pulsation, respiration, and postural changes.
