Graduate School of Economics offers majors in financial engineering, Financial Economics, Financial Insurance, International Business & Industry, Public Policy & Economic Development, and Managerial Economics, and students select one of the five majors above is selected at the same time aswhen applying for the master's degree program. There are head professors for each major, and you can get obtain professional guidance from the head major professor about your major field.

금융보험전공(Insurance)

The uncertainties and risks that individuals and companies face in economic activities are getting bigger as the industry advances. This major examines the basic theory of insurance and , the development process of the system, and the current operational status. As future uncertainties and risks are the core foundation of insurance, the primary concern of those who major insurance is in how the insurance plays an institutional role in how the ways in which individuals and businesses cope with the risks.
In particular, insurance can play a big role in terms of social security in light of the current trend toward welfare states. This course first asks a fundamental question of how finance is related with the real economy in terms of macroeconomics. Then the course evaluates the theoreticallyvarious kinds expected of risks and the insurance theoriesy to cope with them, and examines changes in the insurance system through case studiess in each country.
StudentsWe study the development, sales, and management techniques of general insurance products such as life insurance and indemnity insurance. In addition, we review current medical insurance, unemployment insurance, and pension systems that are currently being established as social insurance, focusing on current problems and future development directions.
